We are very pleased to announce that the children’s Learning Diaries are now online! Your child’s own personal Learning diary will be available to access on the secure website ‘Tapestry’.
Parents/carers will need to have an e-mail address to access the journal. Your password and user name will be given to you by the pre-school. Please could you keep the user name and password you are given, for two weeks, until we are sure there are no hiccups or glitches. Once we are certain it is accessible and user friendly you can then apply your own personal user name and password.
By logging on with a secure username and password you will be able to view all of your child’s observations, photographs and even videos from their time in Pre-school. You should also receive an e-mail telling you when a new observation or piece of work is available for you to view. This will enable you to follow your child’s individual progress closely and you can reflect upon their achievements with your child. You can add your own observations, updates and comments so that we as a staff team discover more about your child and the learning they get up to at home. Staff will reference your child’s learning to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Outcomes so you will know which are of learning your child is achieving in and the age-band they were working in for that activity.
All of this information is stored on a highly secure server, which is closely monitored.
We will photograph any pieces of work which we are using for your child’s Learning Diary and send the actual piece home. We will continue to keep some pieces back for our displays of the children’s work, these will go home as displays are changed.
Parents and carers will be able to view their child’s Learning Dairy anytime on any device with the use of the secure username and password. We will provide you with instruction booklets on how to access your individual account on Tapestry using a computer and an Apple device. We also have available a booklet on using an Android device, please come and ask for that one if you prefer.
If you have any questions or comments, please have a chat with a member of our team or e-mail us at email@example.com.
We are sure that you will love this new interactive way of viewing and recording your child’s achievements as much as we do and we would very much welcome your feedback on this exciting resource.
